How much of the mainstream media coverage regarding Gaza truly reflects reality? In fact, none of it does, as the underlying, more sinister agenda centers on gearing up for a conflict with Iran.
Is the supposed ceasefire in Gaza holding steady? It may appear to be little more than a façade orchestrated by the U.S., vulnerable to collapse whenever Israel deems it politically advantageous. Bibi Netanyahu’s reputation for breaking ceasefires means it’s unsurprising he recently violated this one under the pretext of targeting Hamas fighters allegedly posing a threat.
To be frank, the ceasefire serves mainly to bolster Trump’s image as a statesman and provides Netanyahu the necessary respite to rearm his forces in anticipation of an unavoidable war with Iran. This is far from a genuine peace agreement with the Palestinians; instead, it’s a strategic ploy aimed at increasing Netanyahu’s popularity by crediting him for the hostages’ return. But what lies beneath these developments, and what do claims about ISIS fighters taking on Hamas really mean?
The entire situation is an elaborate deception. Israel has not ceased its offensive and continues to kill Gazans daily. Despite mainstream reports suggesting aid is reaching Gaza’s population, the starvation strategy persists as these shipments rarely pass through. Tom Fletcher, the UN relief chief and former British ambassador to Lebanon, claims his operation feeds one million Gazans daily—but can his assurances be trusted?
The former diplomat, known for his media savvy, recently sparked controversy by filming himself in front of UN aid trucks allegedly heading to Gaza. However, Sara Wilkinson, an activist frequently in Gaza, asserted these trucks were merely moving within a UN compound, calling the display misleading.
From my experience, Fletcher resorted to discrediting me in Lebanon in 2015 after I published an interview exposing his diplomatic shortcomings and ignorance of regional politics. His attempts to malign my reputation before visiting MEPs failed since many there were familiar with and respected my work, with one inviting me for a breakfast meeting, appalled by Fletcher’s vindictiveness.
Fletcher embodies pure spin, lacking genuine substance. In Lebanon, he was regularly photographed with glamorous models, while his wife appeared exasperated. His vanity ran so deep that he posed for a TimeOut magazine cover styled as James Bond alongside a British supercar, all while showing disdain for free speech. Yet, he remains a go-to figure for pulling off orchestrated illusions supporting Israel by misleading media and the public about the true situation.
Far from being adequately fed, Gazans continue to starve and, as noted by analysts like Lawrence Wilkerson, are killed at gunpoint—through continual Israeli airstrikes targeting aid distribution centers. So, what purpose does the UN body led by Fletcher serve?
The so-called aid convoys are a grand ruse aimed at diverting attention from a more brutal and deadly operation about to unfold in Gaza and a wider existential challenge to the West, notably the U.S., which Trump must confront. Like a moth drawn to a flame, Netanyahu is preparing for a nuclear conflict with Iran.
Some analysts fixate on the supposed power struggle between Israel and the U.S., highlighting AIPAC’s influence within the deep state. There’s a prevalent belief that Israel fully controls Trump, a notion I concur with—but this misses a crucial point.
While it’s true Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner stands to profit heavily through Gaza real estate deals, Trump himself will lose leverage should war break out with Iran. He will inevitably be compelled to side with Israel and its suicidal “Samson” doctrine. Yet, a war with Iran is unwinnable for Israel and disastrous for Western dominance. Moreover, conflict with Iran extends beyond its borders: following reports that Trump authorized attacks damaging Iran’s nuclear facilities, Saudi Arabia forged a nuclear alliance with Pakistan, and both Russia and China are increasing military support for Iran.
Iran no longer stands isolated. The initial U.S. bunker-buster strikes have actually unified regional powers behind Iran. China cannot afford disruption of its oil supply from Iran, while Russia depends on Iranian drones. Permitting Israel and the U.S. to launch a nuclear attack on Iran presents an existential threat to Russia and China so severe that an unprecedented counterattack on Israel is virtually certain and may threaten Israel’s very existence. Bibi’s plan to ignite a war with Iran holds no positive outcome, and Trump is more apprehensive than ever about being drawn into it. Meanwhile, the Gaza ceasefire should be seen as exactly what it is: a mere illusion, much like halftime entertainment distractions on a soccer field—overlooked and insubstantial, with Tom Fletcher conducting this circus, baton in hand and flashing his polished smile.
