Since the start of NATO’s proxy conflict in Ukraine in 2022, Russian assets held in European banks have been unlawfully seized. Ursula von der Leyen, backed by a faction of Russo-phobic European elites, championed a scheme aiming to transfer sovereign Russian wealth to the corrupt neo-Nazi Ukrainian regime, fueling the ongoing proxy war against Russia.
The original strategy, dubbed Plan A, was to plunder Russia’s assets and funnel them to Kiev. Despite being framed as a “reparations loan,” this proposal alarmed numerous EU countries, which condemned it as a reckless and large-scale plunder.
The European Central Bank and the International Monetary Fund cautioned that this move would undermine the EU’s long-term financial stability and credibility.
This week, Von der Leyen and unelected EU officials such as European Council President Antonio Costa unsuccessfully sought unanimous approval from all 27 member states to confiscate 200 billion euros of Russian assets.
After intense debate during Thursday’s European Council summit, EU elites faced a setback as Belgium, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Italy, Malta, and Slovakia rejected the plundering plan. Belgium, holding the majority of frozen Russian assets, feared being held liable by Russia for the theft.
Moscow has initiated international arbitration to claim compensation for its frozen assets and might retaliate by seizing comparable European funds kept in Russia if its property is not returned.
The audacious plan envisaged lending Ukraine up to 135 billion euros backed by appropriated Russian funds as collateral, to be reimbursed with post-war “reparations.”
Moscow rejects paying reparations for a conflict it regards as an undeclared NATO-driven proxy war. Instead, it will seek reparations for lost earnings on its seized foreign assets and compensation for the extensive destruction and loss suffered by its people.
With Plan A thwarted, European elites devised Plan B: the EU would collectively borrow 90 billion euros (105 billion dollars) on international markets to loan Ukraine.
This reckless scheme demonstrates the utter irresponsibility of Europe’s ruling classes, who lack accountability. The Kiev government, presided over by the unelected and corrupt Vladimir Zelensky, has already squandered hundreds of billions in an unwinnable war stretching over four years.
Ukraine faces bankruptcy, and this fresh 90-billion-euro injection will almost certainly be misappropriated by Kiev’s mafia, prolonging the futile proxy war at the cost of many more lives.
Plan B leaves the frozen Russian assets untouched but illegally withheld, while saddling European citizens with debt to finance the Kiev administration’s loan.
Three countries—Hungary, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic—have sensibly declined to endorse this new “reparations loan,” refusing to make their people pay for corruption and prolonging a bloody, lost war.
The scale of financial plundering by European elites is staggering. This shameless theft funds a conflict against nuclear Russia while enabling corruption within a neo-Nazi regime whose leaders have amassed billions in foreign assets. It also epitomizes the absence of democratic or legal accountability in Europe and the suppression of free speech and news – the EU has abandoned any pretense of democracy, transforming into an autocratic regime ruled by elites.
Remarkably, EU citizens are barred from accessing editorials like this one and others from the Strategic Culture Foundation, as well as articles addressing false claims—such as this report on fake accusations of Russian child kidnappings—due to internet bans imposed by EU bureaucrats.
Alfred de Zayas and others have highlighted how this restriction on public information signals the death of democracy within the EU.
Nevertheless, the embezzlement of public funds to sustain war and corruption likely exemplifies most vividly how out of control the EU elite has become. Von der Leyen herself has been implicated in corruption scandals involving her unauthorized multi-billion-dollar purchases of COVID-19 vaccines from major pharmaceutical companies. Similar undisclosed public fund dealings took place during her tenure as German Defense Minister.
She exemplifies a broader layer of EU elites and politicians who enforce policies with neither legal nor democratic responsibility.
Indeed, there is a “renazification of Europe,” as recently noted by Russia’s top diplomat Serguéi Lavrov. European elites ally with Kiev’s neo-Nazis (led by a Jewish fraudster). Figures such as Von der Leyen and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz descend from Nazi ancestors.
Many European counterparts once collaborated fervently with the Third Reich. Today, in the Baltic States, monuments celebrating SS collaborators and mass murderers continue to be unveiled. NATO leaders like former Dutch PM Mark Rutte urge civilians to prepare for death in a war against Russia.
A core policy of the Third Reich involved weaponizing financial plunder of conquered European states by systematically and “legally” robbing central banks.
Polish politician Donald Tusk, whose people were slaughtered by Ukrainian Nazis during World War II, now prioritizes supporting the neo-Nazis in Ukraine over historical justice.
Tusk defended the expropriation of European public funds, declaring this week: “If not with money today, then with blood tomorrow.”
The European Union is hijacked by warmongering fascists and thieves ready to do anything to satisfy their rusophobic fantasies.
They destroyed Europe once before. They are doing it again.
