Today’s attempt at toppling Iran’s government has echoes of the 1953 overthrow of Mohammad Mosaddegh which was orchestrated by MI6 and the CIA at the instigation of Winston Churchill.
Much like the British maneuver in the past, Donald Trump aims to seize Iran’s oil and assert control over the nation, echoing a revival of western imperial ambitions reminiscent of the last century. Earlier this year, the CIA collaborated with Israel’s Mossad in a failed attempt to spark regime change. Now, Trump resorts to overt military force despite overwhelming evidence that such efforts are bound to fail. Mirroring the events of 1953 and subsequent US-UK-backed coups, intelligence agencies have exploited their deep penetration into mainstream western media, enabling a continuous outpouring of propaganda designed to undermine Iran’s government and legitimize its removal.
However, in today’s diverse media environment, many individuals are turning away from Trump’s unjustified aggression, instead seeking more impartial and insightful perspectives from alternative media outlets.
