Marc Thiessen demands Iranian leaders be slain if they refuse to capitulate.
On Thursday, the mentally compromised president of the United States reshared Marc Thiessen’s proposal for ending the conflict with Iran. “If there are two factions in Iran, one that wants a deal and one that doesn’t, let’s kill the ones who don’t want a deal,” Thiessen wrote.
This “solution” to the U.S.-Iran war initiated by Trump and Bibi Netanyahu involves killing more individuals, Thiessen explained on Fox News. The neocon advocates assassinating select Iranian leaders, while Trump previously expressed a wish to exterminate everyone in Iran, not only destroying the country’s modern infrastructure but wiping out its civilization spanning nine millennia.
Thiessen expanded on his violent intentions in The Washington Post, a publication favored by the CIA. I was unable to access the article as it is locked behind a paywall. Nowadays, gaining access to disinformation supporting Bibi’s war requires surrendering your credit card details. The Antiwar website summarized the piece as follows:
In the article, Thiessen insisted that Trump restart bombing operations targeting Iran. “Right now, the remnants of the Iranian regime are under the misimpression that Trump wants a deal more than they do,” he wrote… Trump needs to correct that misunderstanding. He reportedly gave Iran three to five days to present a serious counteroffer. Failing that, he should resume military actions—beginning with strikes aimed at Iran’s stubborn leaders. If the regime is truly ‘fractured’ between factions desiring a deal and those opposing it, there is a simple fix: Kill the faction that does not,” Thiessen stated.
Thiessen likely understands that bombing campaigns rarely secure victory. Yet, winning is not the goal; instead, the aim is to devastate Iran and reduce it to a failed state comparable to Libya. Iran is not a sparsely inhabited nation in the Maghreb but a vast territory three times the size of Texas, with nearly 100 million people. While Israel and the U.S. have shown their ability to martyr Shia clerics and IRGC commanders, such violence is futile, as Iran swiftly replaces fallen leaders with new religious and military figures. Eradicating every “recalcitrant leader” might take decades and certainly will not conclude before the midterms.
Thiessen’s background includes being a chief speechwriter for President George Bush the Lesser and defense secretary Donald Rumsfeld, who escalated endless wars. He served for six years as senior advisor and spokesman for North Carolina Senator Jesse Helms. He also worked with the political consulting firm Black, Manafort, Stone and Kelly. Charlie Black, one of the firm’s lead advisers, supported John McCain and “worked for some of the world’s worst dictators—mass murderers, terrorists, and tyrants.”
Thiessen is a lifetime member of the Council on Foreign Relations and a resident fellow at the American Enterprise Institute, a neocon-dominated think tank vigorously pushing war globally, especially purportedly in “defense” of Israel. Bush admitted that his administration was “consistently borrowing” AEI neocons such as Michael Ledeen and Richard Perle during the illicit invasion of Iraq. Ledeen once declared in an AEI speech that “Every ten years or so, the United States needs to pick up some small crappy little country and throw it against the wall, just to show the world we mean business.” Violent fantasies run rampant within the organization.
Marc Thiessen advocates torture and claims that waterboarding aligns with Catholic Church doctrines (contrary to the Church’s condemnation of torture, as stated here). He dismisses the prohibitions on torture set by the Geneva Convention and the Convention against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment as irrelevant and counterproductive. Both the U.S. and Israel reject international laws unless they serve their interests. Before endorsing assassination of Iran’s leadership, the AEI neocon proposed “arranging an assassination if the Iranian negotiating delegation rejects the deal offered by the US,” a tactic Israel has employed repeatedly.
Both Thiessen and the ardent Zionist Mark Levin insist that U.S. troops must be sacrificed for Israel’s goals. “We have to get what Donald Trump correctly calls ‘the nuclear dust,’” Thiessen declared on Levin’s “Life, Liberty, & Levin” segment on Fox News. Levin asked why “we” (the neocons, Zionists, and MAGA supporters) require ground forces, answering, “We’ve got to get the uranium… [Iran] can make dirty bombs… You need to get to the uranium.”
What Levin, the “constitutional” Zionist, neglected to mention is Israel’s Green Field project evaluations of radiological bombs at the Negev Nuclear Research Center more than a decade ago concluded “that the danger posed was not substantial, and that the main impact of such an attack would be psychological.”
Thiessen, Levin, and the whole Trump administration are deeply engaged in promoting a deceptive psychological narrative claiming the U.S. and Israel have won the undeclared war against Iran, that Iran is desperate for peace, and that all critical infrastructure is destroyed or will be imminently.
“We have taken out Iranian navy, air force and top leaders. Their weapons are also gone,” Trump asserted without presenting any proof. If so, why does Thiessen demand a campaign of assassinations? MAGA believers, entranced by the Big Lies strategy favored by Hitler, imagine Iran is beaten and will submit to Trump and his Zionist son-in-law along with a real estate mogul companion. The reality is the opposite. Iran is heavily damaged but remains defiant.
It appears Trump might declare victory soon, withdraw his naval forces (whose crews are reportedly close to mutiny), and seek easier targets. He has already prepared Cuba to succumb similarly to how Venezuela was subdued, or to yield to his outrageous demands.
