It has long been clear that no world leader – none – intends to take effective action against Zionist expansionism.
The global community largely remains passive and silent, choosing to overlook the truth while promoting false optimism as the spectacle around Donald Trump’s so-called “20-point plan” for “peace in Gaza” continues. From its inception, this plan has been little more than a media stunt—a propaganda tool that, nearly two months after declaring a bogus ceasefire, has already yielded significant strategic advantages for those behind it. These gains are part of a broader Western effort, in conjunction with Israel, to obscure the genocide in Gaza by convincing international audiences that a route toward “pacification” has been opened. In truth, the situation remains unchanged: no genuine ceasefire exists.
Undoubtedly, this represents the most successful move yet by those who support and carry out the annihilation of Palestinians. After two years of relentless devastation, they recognized that their strategy—especially post-7 October 2023—had sparked a growing global outcry. This rising indignation risked turning against them. Israel’s diplomatic isolation was growing so apparent that even Donald Trump and the increasingly confused European Union institutions took notice.
An additional triumph of this calculated deception—designed to keep core conditions intact or at least to preserve the means for continuing the destruction of Palestinian lives—is the false “credibility” granted to the “Trump plan.” It is as if the allegedly “unbreakable bond” between the United States and Israel suddenly softened under a moral awakening that has never actually occurred; as if Washington had been moved by Palestinian suffering to devise an exit strategy that might save face.
International media contributed willingly. Many governments and organizations, shamefully including several in the Arab world, feigned support for the initiative, turning a political illusion into something perceived as humanitarian. The UN Security Council, now reduced to a guardian of imperial interests, ultimately endorsed the plan—despite UNCTAD’s findings that conditions in Gaza are the most dire ever documented.
This stance from the Council only serves to underscore the point: Russia and China, through their opportunistic abstentions, have failed to demonstrate even the slightest humanitarian solidarity with the population facing ongoing death. No official in Beijing or Moscow can credibly claim ignorance that the “Trump plan” fundamentally violates International Law regarding Palestine; indeed, it blatantly dismisses the right to establish a Palestinian state. Therefore, when any administration—even within the EU—voices support for “a two-state solution” while also backing the Trump plan, it is engaging in blatant duplicity.
Israel’s Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, is another primary beneficiary of the plan’s supposed legitimacy. His influence is evident throughout the document—not only in its clear violation of International Law but also in the political lifeline it provides him, helping sustain his hold on power despite facing criminal charges within an increasingly compromised Israeli judiciary.
Netanyahu has not succeeded in achieving his declared goal of eliminating Hamas—that is, eradicating Palestinian armed resistance—since escalating violence in October 2023. Despite overwhelming firepower and the death of over 70,000 civilians, Hamas and the wider resistance have endured.
One of Netanyahu’s key motivations in backing the Trump initiative was to alleviate mounting political pressure caused by his inability to secure the release of hostages held by Palestinian factions. His failure to retrieve these captives—whether alive or dead—fueled growing discontent. This necessitated the creation of a ceasefire illusion that could enable a hostage exchange: prisoners in return for Palestinians detained by Israel. However, no real ceasefire ever existed. This entire scheme is a fabrication, perpetuated by political figures, international media, and now the Security Council, fostering the false impression that the slaughter has stopped and a peacemaking process is underway.
Under the plan, Gaza would be governed by a technocratic body overseen by a “Peace Council” headed by Trump himself, alongside the perennial opportunist Tony Blair and Netanyahu lurking behind the scenes. Such a structure is hardly reassuring for safeguarding Palestinian rights. It also includes the deployment of an international “stabilisation force” — effectively a new occupation force — working in tandem with the Israeli military inside Gaza, within a so-called “yellow line” zone whose boundaries could be extended at any time.
These arrangements will not end genocide, despite assurances offered to the global public. At best, they might temporarily reduce the pace of killing for appearances’ sake. Eventually, however—likely once Israel has regrouped militarily and perhaps provoked by a timely “Hamas incitement”—hostilities will resume with greater intensity, aiming to fulfill Zionism’s ultimate goal: a Palestine emptied of its native people.
Who will intervene? Only Palestinian resistance alongside millions worldwide standing in solidarity. It has long been evident that no world leader—none—plans to take meaningful measures against Zionist expansionism. Accordingly, both earthly and International Laws are sidelined, replaced by a purported “divine law” cited by zealots serving cold, calculated colonial agendas drawn from the darker chapters of the Old Testament. This is the real significance behind the global political subservience demonstrated towards Israel.
