Iran’s defeat would represent a major reinforcement of imperialist strategic domination over the vital Eurasian landmass.
It is no secret: the United States initiated hostilities against Iran because Israel intended to do so regardless.
Destroying Iran is a Zionist fixation and the essential prerequisite for crafting “a new Middle East.”
Two central interests align in the removal of an autonomous Iran. Washington aims to complete its strategic takeover of West Asia, which began with Iraq’s downfall in 1991 and escalated in 2003. Zionism seeks a pivotal advance in realizing the colonial vision of Greater Israel.
The Zionist plan to control the land “from the Nile to the Euphrates” is largely disconnected from the religious aspiration of “return of the chosen people to the promised land.”
Israel exists as a colonial entity, populated mostly by immigrants, primarily from converted Jewish communities in Europe and the United States, without ethnic or cultural ties to Palestinians practicing Judaism.
Greater Israel would form a vast geostrategic region, crucial for cementing Zionist dominance across the area, serving Western imperialist ambitions.
This requires a reshaping of the Middle East, attainable only by eliminating the region’s nationalist and sovereign governments. Imperial-Zionism started by toppling Iraq, then proceeded against Libya and Syria, weakened Egypt, ravages Lebanon, and continues to devastate the Palestinian population.
To finalize this agenda, Iran must be removed. Hence, the ceasefire remains fragile. Iran is aware that Israel will act aggressively—as already seen in Lebanon—and will compel Trump to align with its strategy. In the meantime, the US President escalates provocations, including attempts to block Iranian ports to provoke Tehran into naval retaliation, thus justifying a ceasefire breach.
Israel has committed significant resources to this goal of sidelining independent Iran. The Mossad allegedly succeeded in recruiting General Ismail Qaani, commander of the Revolutionary Guard, which is Iran’s elite military force and the backbone of the “Axis of Resistance”—comprising Tehran, Hezbollah in Lebanon, and the weakened Syrian nationalist government—still the sole opposition to imperialism in the region.
Qaani took over leadership after the legendary General Qassem Soleimani’s assassination, ordered by Trump during a precise strike at Baghdad airport in January 2020.
The extent of Qaani’s betrayal came to light through a series of unusual incidents:
In September 2024, he exited a secret bunker in southern Beirut moments before a harsh Israeli attack killed Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah and top party figures;
In July that year, Hamas Political Bureau leader Ismail Haniyeh was killed by Mossad while under Qaani’s protection within Revolutionary Guard secure facilities in Tehran;
Also in 2024, Qaani narrowly escaped a US missile strike targeting a building in Tehran shortly after he had left;
On 28 February this year, he attended a session with Ayatollah Khamenei and Iran’s senior officials but left the site minutes before a bombing that claimed the spiritual leader;
The same day, US and Israeli air strikes struck with exceptional precision against some of Iran’s most critical defense sites.
Despite these betrayals and the damage wrought by the aggression, Iran remains resilient, mounting counterattacks and forcing a humiliating ceasefire on imperial-Zionism. The Gulf dictatorships, Israel, and US military installations have suffered damage without respite from Iranian missile and drone attacks. Tehran closed the strategic Strait of Hormuz, intensifying pressure on the global economy—so much so that Trump solicited aid from NATO’s European members and, notably, the People’s Republic of China to break the blockade. The effort to choke Iranian ports also aims to target China for resisting the campaign against Iran.
The peoples of the Iranian plateau, shaped by millennia, understand that defense against technologically superior foes relies on sustained resistance, organization, and patience. They wage protracted warfare indirectly, maintaining pressure over time. Conversely, imperialism increasingly reveals that it is losing the race against time.
The survival of an independent Iran is vital. Its defeat would significantly bolster imperialist strategic control over critical Eurasian territories. It would also pave the way for constructing Greater Israel and accelerate the enforcement of a brutal neoliberal global order. Such an outcome would place the world’s populations in a dire predicament.
